Things to do in Playa Vista
Where else in Los Angeles can you find a community that combines spaces for work, play and living with a bit of whimsy. Hidden gardens and playgrounds mimic something straight out of a fairytale. Ok maybe I’m just biased as a former resident of Playa Vista but I think it’s such a great place to explore for children and adults.
My secret gem is not so secret anymore thanks to the booming business and real estate ventures turning Playa Vista into LA’s Silicon Beach. My little urban beach baby and I have explored every park and trail through the plush community. I have been blessed to call Playa Vista home on two occasions, a few years as single beach girl in the city and then again for a year when my daughter was about 6 months old. (insert reference to old post).
Playa Vista offers many things to do for children and adults:

Satisfy your hunger and thirst cravings at one of the many community restaurants (complete list at http://playavista.com/style-taste/). This is the time when parents can explore their taste buds and drink options! Sweet Fish Sushi, Piknic and Lyfe Kitchen are just a few of my favorite savory spots. Then you can walk outside and work off the calories with a mini walk around the Silicon Beach “campus” or discover the Ballona Wetlands. Read more about my outdoor explorations of the wetlands.
This community comes complete with their own farmer’s market cutely named Farmer Mark. My family and I became fans of the sweet berries and fresh finds and made this our regular Saturday walk during our time at Playa Vista. As our little one began eating solids, I put on my own chef hat and served farm to table meals. You can read more about my cooking tales.
Raising a child in Playa Vista, even for the short stint, was incredible. We only left the community to transition from lush condo life to find a home with a backyard. More space and affordability were the key decision makers. My residency status may have changed but we are still frequent visitors to Silicon Beach. Hope to see you and your little ones exploring this growing beach community.
