Salt Water Heals Everything – it’s true magic and it’s free. We can jump into the water and even take a home a bottle of the magic but why not go further and create a home filled with the healing powers and tranquility of the sea.
Some women create shoe museums from their years of shopping, I create sand castles. I can probably turn my living room into a mini beach for my daughter complete with shells, sand and beach towels.
Urban Beach Baby will feature gifts from the sea – decorating tips and ideas to create a natural beach inspired home. Discover ways to bring shells, sand and coastal living into your home life.

Turkish Towels from The Folding Room
Last summer I was on a quest to find the perfect beach towels. I call it a quest because I knew the rewards would be worth the search efforts. I wanted high quality, stylish and absorbent towels. Did I mention they had to be affordable too. So yes, it was a total quest!
I kept hearing about turkish towels and finally found my perfect match at a art and craft fair in downtown Los Angeles. The Folding Room has a few options, including my pick – Classic Peshtemal Towel ($25).
I am obsessed with these towels! They have held up to countless sandy days and washes and remain unchanged, super soft. Another cool fact, they are really handwoven in Turkey.
My next quest includes an affordable roundie towel for beach time and backyard lazy days. Any recommendations?
The Perfect Beach Bag – Majorelle Jute Bag
My favorite beach bag travels all the way from Australia! I must admit, this is my bag and not the family beach bag. It is just too pretty for wet and sandy towels and clothes. Leather handles and a fun design make this jute bag my favorite for beach days and summer outings.
I love this bag so much I had to buy a few for girlfriends last Christmas. I cannot resist the style and price tag at just $22! Check out the bag and other awesome beach items from The Beach People.
Love your website. We also have the beach on our doorstep, although living in the North East of England we are not as fortunate with the weather but my kids love it.
Hi Leanne! Thank you! I love a chilly, overcast beach walk almost as much as a sunny one. There is something just so healing and uplifting about the coastline. I imagine your beaches are beautiful!
All life flows out of water! Looking forward to your “beach” collection.
Thank you! I realized recently my house is just filled with ocean trinkets that it’s time to share some ideas. More information to come soon 🙂
Do you subscribe to Coastal Living magazine? It is my one indulgence – I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Been getting it now for about 8 years or so. I get it hardcopy old school style in the mail – like getting a monthly Xmas gift to me when it comes. But it is also available with online subscription. And they have an associated site that showcases their Coastal Living decorating ideas and furniture. I think you would appreciate it all too.
So cool to see you are embracing the “beachy” style of your childhood and passing it on to Riley.
I’m going to order it asap. I can’t resist anything beachy! So blessed to be able to share the beach with my girl.
