It’s all about the Oola
Disclosure: I received a complimentary advanced copy of Oola for Women for this post but opinions expressed are 100% mine.
Oola: derived from the expression ohh la la!; a state of awesomeness; a life that is balanced and growing in the key areas of health, finances, career, relationships and well-being.
Living an Oola life has become my new goal because really who doesn’t want to get to a state of awesomeness. Finding balance has been a work in progress for me since becoming a parent but it wasn’t until reading Oola For Women that I realized how critical this was to my well-being.
I owe my new journey to Dave Braun, Troy Amdahl and the 42 inspiring women who shared their souls to empower and support women to rediscover themselves and define our own happiness. Our world is so cluttered by examples of the perfect career, family and home that it often becomes easier to mimic that versus creating our own path. I love that Oola reminds us to create our own unique spaces and discover the greatness within to live freely.
Seven F’s of Oola
Fitness, finance, family, field (career), faith, friends and fun.
The idea is that our lives are made up of seven categories, each with separate goals and purposes. When you think about it these seven areas are the foundation of our lives. If even one, or in my case several, are out of sync we suffer and are far from the Oola lifestyle.
Total transparency here, I initially skimmed through the sections to reach the categories I thought were most important. It soon dawned on me, each category is intertwined and I need to reach my full potential in each area to really achieve my goal to find balance. By skipping sections, I really was cheating myself.
Unlike self-help books I’ve peaked into in the past, this one combines all these areas in one book. You have an opportunity to connect the dots and achieve complete wholeness.
Inspiration & Praise
Two words jumped off the page and have become part of my daily life – simple fun. The idea is that each day should include something fun. It doesn’t have to be elaborate but the key is it’s something personal and fun for you. Today, I choose fun!
Oola for Women landed in my lap at the perfect time in my life. I cannot praise this book enough for the powerful message it sends to women. We are worth it! We are worth every minute of time to read this book. This book unlocked so many things for me and decluttered some of my thoughts on being a woman, a mom, a friend and reminded me to just be me.
